Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake ( 407-299-5594) offers 125 picnic tables, a three-mile (4.8-kilometer) bicycle trail, hiking trails, two beaches, a swimming pool, camping areas, a 200-foot (60-meter) wooden fishing pier, canoe rentals and a petting zoo on its 300 acres (120 hectares).

Cady Way Trail ( 407-836-6200) offers a 3.5-mile (5.6-kilometer) paved corridor which links Winter Park and Orlando. The trail provides water fountains, sheltered rest stops and mile markers.

Harry P. Leu Gardens ( 407-246-2620) in Downtown Orlando showcases 50 acres of tropical plants, a formal rose garden, and camellias. Visit the Leu House Museum, a restored late nineteenth century home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Little Econ Greenway (LEG) ( 407-249-4586) presents a paved trail which extends 4 miles (6.4 hectares) from Blanchard Park to Goldenrod Road and features riverside recreation, picnicking, wildlife, horse trails and canoeing areas.

At A World of Orchids in Kissimmee ( 407-396-1887) stroll along exquisite flowering orchids showcased in an outdoor rain forest garden, home also to exotic birds and fish.
